I would say it's an x-plane 11 issue some things don't work for example, the resolution settings, On my machine I can set up 2560x1440 @100Hz on x-plane 10, my monitor supports frequency High up to 165Hz, with GSYNC, and it works well, even if x-plane itself won't render frames @ this rate.

What the other guy said if you are getting tearing then check and turn on VSYNC will fix your issue - make sure also that you are running at 100% res and that you have your FPS in line with your refresh rate of the monitor - if your running a 1080p monitor with a 60hz refresh rate then you will only ever get 60FPS ...
