WebJul 29, 2024 · While the L31 does come with a hydraulic roller it is a very small roller. Never met a car guy who wouldn't enjoy a little more HP. Heads and camshaft is where power is made with the SBC. The Vortec is a very good head for building good cheap hose power. WebMar 16, 2024 · This special engine was only used in 1996 1 ton vans. It has the 2 TBI injectors on top, with the 8 vertically standing intake manifold bolts grouped in 2's at each corner of the intake manifold. The 8th digit of the VIN is the engine code. R means its a Vortec 350 L31 for 1996-99, vin M is a 305 L30 Vortec. peace.
